2011 EdgeWater Power Boats Billfish Classic
Ocean Blue Fishing Adventures in conjunction with EdgeWater Power Boats Asia Pacific are inviting anglers to fish the Inaugural EdgeWater Power Boats Rompin Billfish Classic to be held at the Lanjut Golden Beach & Golf Resort on the 7-9 October 2011.
The tournament will be organised by Ocean Blue Media, a subsidiary of Ocean Blue Fishing Adventures who have been marketing Kuala Rompin to international anglers for the past four years. The ultimate goal of this inaugural event is to attract teams of international and local anglers to Rompin to fish this tournament in early October 2011 and further promote the area as a world-class sport fishing destination.

Champion Angler – Topwater Lure Casting: US$5000.00
Champion Angler: Kaiser Tackle Pack
Champion Female Angler: Black Pete Tackle Pack
Tournament Format
The format of this event is unique to the Asia Pacific region. A minimum tournament Cash Purse of US$30,000 will be shared between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams overall at this years event. Apart from the main tournament cash purse, we will also be offering jackpot style optional entries where teams can enter mini tournaments for each day of the overall event. This has never been offered before in Asia and provides an additional incentive to participate and earn great cash purses.
Teams will enter the overall tournament which is compulsory. Teams may also enter three optional categories (Bronze US$250, Silver US$500 or Gold US$1000) for each day of the tournament. Teams will then only compete against other teams entered into the same category. The final prize pool for each category is distributed between 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the prize presentation after each day. Teams may enter multiple categories if they wish.
Tournament Rules
The tournament is a release only event and will operate based on IGFA rules. The overall winners will also qualify to take part in the prestigious IGFA Offshore World Championship held in Mexico 2012.
