OUR VISION
THE BONNACCA MEDICAL CENTER
Bonnaca Medical Center “BMC”.... A dream that has been visualized by a group of concern citizens of Bonacca (Guanaja) for a very long time. The construction of BMC is going forward with the enthusiasm and determination of a very special group of visionaries who see the need of this facility and see the potential of using the resources around the Island. And what better way to fund this dream than thru our own fishing area.
The Guanaja Fishing and Game Club which will host the 2nd Guanaja International Fishing Tournament ¨¨with IGFA Qualifications will help make the dream of Bonacca Medical Center a reality, by donating the funds to construct the necessary buildings suited for every kind of medical need of the community. With a population of 8 -10 thousand inhabitants and no medical facilities this project is way overdue and a must.
With the land already available for this project, we are seeking further funding from sponsors, activities hosted by the Guanaja fishing and Game Club, and most appreciated donations, local or international.
Imagine a beautifully designed and constructed building done by professional medical architects which will include an operating room with all the necessary equipment, a trauma center, a maternity ward with neonatal care equipment, radiology department, cafeteria, laundry, and office space for medical doctors and international volunteer medical groups.
There will be designated foundations to help with the administration and operating management of the facility, along with medical groups rotating their services. And in the future a state of the art dental clinic for volunteer dental groups.
Just imagine this beautiful facility aset in the midst of swaying palm trees and lush fauna of a tropical paradise that in it’s own way has it’s healing effect. We sincerely hope for our warm trade winds to direct you to our beautiful island and help us to achieve our dream of the ¨Bonacca Medical Center.
