The 68th International Light Tackle Tournament was held May 26-31, 2008 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. All events took place at the beautiful Cap Cana Resort and Marina Cap Cana.
White Marlin were the targeted species by 102 anglers composing 34 teams from Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico, South Africa, USA and Venezuela.
A total of 79 Whites were released and the “BIG BELT” winner was team Port Aransas Rod & Reel Club of Texas (anglers John Price, Bill Easum, J.W. Bones) with 7 releases. Second place went to team Club Nautico de Santo Domingo #4 and third place was captured by team Puerto Rico Light Tackle Anglers. Top angler was Jesus Montano of Club Nautico de San Juan #1, second Bill Easum of Port Aransas Rod & Reel and 3rd Udo Meyer of Club Nautico de Santo Domingo #3.
