The 5th Edition of The Presidential Caribbean Cup Is Underway
Sept. 12, 2008: The fleet of 36 anglers fishing aboard 9 boats left the La Guaira Harbor this morning to begin the competition in the Presidential Caribbean Cup. The morning bite was slow but around 1pm the action picked up. At 2pm the standings are:
CONTENDER /KING SAILFISH TEAM DIVISION
Top Team: Big Oh 800 points
2nd Team: Decisive (fishing aboard the Tijereta) 700 pts
3rd Team: A-Fin-Ity (fishing aboard the Vintage) 300 pts
Prime Time and Sea Angel also have 300 points.
Eric Dallin released the first billfish of the tournament shortly after lines were called in by scorekeeper, Dan Kipnis. Eric released a sailfish aboard the Tijereta with Capt. Bubba Carter. Gray Ingram released the only blue marlin of the morning fishing on his boat, Big Oh.

This event is the second event in the competition for the Bertram/Evermarine Grand Champion Team Division and the Eagle Claw Grand Champion Angler Division.
In all PCCA events anglers are required to use Berkley Big Game #20 line and Eagle Claw non offset circle hooks.
It was announced by Tournament Chairman that $4,000 has already been raised through tournament activities which will be contributed to The Billfish Foundation and the Adopt-A-White Marlin Satellite Tagging Program.
