They weighed 6 mahi and 3 yellowfin tuna for a total of 476.9 points. The heaviest yellowfin was 66.7 lbs to go along with the only blue marlin release of the tournament. The Blue Water Billfish Tournament is a "Offshore World Championship Qualifying Event" and On Ice is planning on attending. Finishing 2nd was "Jolly Mon a 61 Viking, owned by Jack Hughes and captained by Robby Goodwin with 1st mate Rolland Beamish. They weighed one mahi, 3 yellowfin and a 225.3 lb Big Eye tuna scoring 425.2 points Finishing 3rd was "Tin Knocker" a 55 Viking owned and captained by John Trotto with first mate Chris Clark. They released 1 white marlin scoring 150 points. Recap: 2008 was a very slow canyon season at the eastern canyons. The point totals are usually twice as high as this year. The warm water eddys never hit Oceanographers, Hydrographers, Veaches or Atlantis canyons. Fishing was much better this year to the west.
