The 2010 Desafio Mediterraneo edition has began!!!

First event was in Torredembarra (Tarragona, Spain) and it had 37 boats inscribed. As the last two years, it is an all release tournament focused on Blue Fin Tuna. In cooperation with Instituto Español de Oceanografia (www.ieo.es) and Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (www.csic.es) , the most important scientifics gobernment organizations in Spain, all the tunas has been tagged and released.

Big prices like a fishing trip to Cabo Verde (Africa) valued in +10000$ , and other prices like motor boats or electronic components made the tournament one of a kind.

Desafio Mediterraneo has becamed the most important Big Game Fishing Tournament in the Mediterranean sea because it has between 7 and 10 qualifying events every year that qualifies for the Great Final Desafio Mediterraneo, the Great Final is helded in diferent ports every year. Last year was in Ibiza and 2010 is in Roses (Girona, Spain).

More than 200 people in the dinner and prices show in Torredembarra and it's only the first!! Next one is in Ibiza  (Balearic Islands) on June and the next in Garraf (Barcelona). We would be glad to welcome foreign fishermen, organization would find you good boats and good acomodation.
