2010 welcomes with it the sixth running of the IGFA Offshore World Championship qualifying event and Arabia’s premier sport fishing event, the Sinbad Classic. The tournament will once again be held in Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman, which is home to a variety of pelagic species including yellow fin tuna, marlin, sailfish and mahi-mahi.

The tournament focuses on Sustainability and adheres to a number of strict rules and regulations laid out by the organisers to ensure that this tournament continues to showcase how sport fishing can be beneficial to the region in three key spheres; Youth development in the sport, Environmental awareness and developing sport fishing as a major tourist attraction.

So… we have heard your calls and have hopefully answered them by shortening the event to two fishing days and holding those two days on a Friday / Saturday to hopefully entice a few more of you down from around the gulf. So that is - ‘skippers briefing’ Thursday night, with final registration being open all day from 9a.m. onwards. Perfect… a bit more time to chat about those whoppers you hooked the previous week or sitting back and enjoying a bit of downtime or even an extra day to allow you to run around and sort out your tackle for the event. Fantastic! - All the more reason to come and fish the event. This does mean though that you need to fish hard for those two days!

Please note that there have also been a few additions to the rules and fine tuning of others to try to best ensure that everyone competing has an equal opportunity to win and enjoys returning to fish in this wonderful event.
