Bloody Mary Shotgun Start Cruise
Join us aboard the Oceana for a unique experience to see the Arch of Cabo for the shotgun start to kick-off the first day of fishing. The photo opportunities will give you special memories of the championship for many years to come. (Bloody Mary’s, beverages, pastries) Depart-IGY Marina Dock 6:30am, Monday, May 9, 2011. Explore Los Cabos/San Jose Del Cabo
Explore Los Cabos is a land sightseeing tour that takes you to the three best known areas of Los Cabos, which are Cabo San Lucas, the Tourist Corridor and San Jose del Cabo. During the beginning part this tour also combines a glass bottom boat ride by the beautiful Land’s End area, which includes a visit to the famous Arch, the Sea Lion’s Colony, the Lover’s Beach and other hot spots by the Cabo San Lucas bay. During the visit in Cabo San Lucas town, we visit the Glass Blowing Factory, where you can see how craftsmen create all kind of beautiful glass pieces. Here you can also try “blowing your own creation of glass.” A free shopping time is reserved at Cabo San Lucas, where you can walk around downtown and buy anything you like. There are plenty of shops where you can find: arts & crafts, art galleries, jewelry, Mexican and contemporary cloth stores, flee markets and many others. Once we are seated back on the van and head northeast, this tour enters to a calm and relaxed time during the ride through the Tourist Corridor. Here you will have the opportunity to enjoy the views of the magnificent Sea of Cortez and the beautiful residential areas, hotels and golf courses. Concluding the tour at San Jose del Cabo, you’ll get to know the historic downtown where we visit the City Hall, the Mission and one of the tequila shops to enjoy a delightful tequila tasting. You will also have the chance to walk around and visit the many galleries San Jose host. Our final stop will be at “El Herradero Restaurant” to have lunch. Here you’ll have the choice to enjoy a wide variety of Mexican dishes or seafood. Lunch is included. Cost $80. per person.
Roosterfish Tournament
An optional roosterfish tournament for any and all noncompeting guests of the championship will be held on Tuesday morning, May 10, 2011, from 7-11:30 a.m. The tournament will consist of near shore fishing from pangas, with two or three anglers per boat. We can pair up single anglers if needed. Captain, bait, tackle, fishing licenses and water are provided. Awards will be presented to the winners at Friday’s gala awards dinner at the Finisterra. Don’t miss out on this exciting fishing experience! Cost is $400 per boat. You need only to bring your camera.
Todos Santos Excursion
An optional tour of the picturesque and historic village of Todos Santos will be offered on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Explore this quaint turn-of-the century sugar cane milling town, turned into a charming artist’s colony. A modern-day oasis, the overlooks a verdant palm grove, brackish streams and the twinkling ocean in the distance, but the real sights are right in its streets. The regional anthropology museum is one of 15 historical buildings and homes in town, and we’ll explore the colorful personalities and global forces that brought them into being. Also enjoy browsing the galleries of Mexican curios and make a stop at the illustrious Hotel California. Enjoy free time for lunch and shopping before we return to Los Cabos in time for 3:00pm fish weigh-ins. On the way back, you just have to relax and enjoy the spectacular view of the Pacific coast. This is a great excursion not to be missed! Cost is $100 per person.
